Shibui is a very powerful word in the Japanese language. Traditionally, it describes the highest, most exquisite level of simple beauty, elegance, workmanship, expertise and performance. Shibui can be found in Nature. For example, the simple beauty of the Osprey swooping down and catching a large fish in his talons would represent Shibui.
In modern times, the younger generation uses Shibui to express words like "radical", "awesome", or "totally cool".
